Love it, best american animated film I've seen in a long time.

Bakshi has good ideas for movies, but I think he has problems with pacing and directing his ideas into film.

As much as I enjoyed American Pop, some of the song choices were questionable. I mean, come on, Pete was supposed to represent the 70's and early 1980 of the family, and he impresses record company(That were producing a record for a new Wave band to boot) with a Bob Segar blues tune? And then the last scene is him playing a song from the 50's?

That could have been improved, but yeah, about the only complaint I really have.

I'm talking more about all of his films, not just American Pop. Also including 3-5 tunes from each decade in a two hour movie is not that difficult to archive.

Also that's my point, tributing American music with Bob Segar, just seems odd to me. Also Heart, no idea why they'd pick that either.

I think we should just agree that it was a great movie.

Also, if you haven't done so yet, watch his other film "Hey Good Lookin'" it's also another classic from him, painfully underrated.

The soundtrack is it's strongest point, excellent mix of 50's pop with 80's new wave.

Rotoscoping is pretty ballin'.

Shame no one but Bakshi uses it.
